We've sometimes felt very alone when making decisions for our dogs.

Reading, researching and asking questions have helped enormously. But the greatest teachers have been the dachshunds themselves.

We've learnt when to persevere, when to try something different and, occasionally, when to accept that a dachshund has made up his mind.

Here we share what we've discovered, what we're still figuring out and all the things we wish we'd known sooner.

And frankly, life with a dachshund is far too funny to keep to ourselves.
